Small firms 'will benefit' from growth of digital printing

Small businesses around the world look set to benefit from the trend towards increased use of digital printing technologies, it has been claimed.

According to Jane Geypen, from the Axiz company, which distributes Hewlett-Packard's products, is convinced that an increasing number of small firms will be able to take advantage of digital printing solutions in years to come.

She told Computing South Africa that the costs of purchasing a digital printing system or of enlisting the help of relevant service providers is likely to fall as the technology becomes more prevalent.

"Companies that want to prosper in today's competitive environment need to address more than their traditional customers and do so with more than traditional products," said Ms Geypen.

Earlier this week, Xerox suggested that a shift to digital printing is part of its ongoing effort to reduce its potentially damaging impact on the environment.
