Print firms 'taking eco issues seriously'

Printing companies around the world are increasingly taking environmental issues seriously, according to one provider of brochure and poster printing services.
The Komori Corporation has asserted that its supply chain and processing facilities are becoming more and more efficient and less damaging to the environment.
And with these issues in mind, the corporation has published a brochure that that is intended to provide useful information to providers of print services on the ways they can reduce their carbon contributions.
"Komori has always focused on producing printing machines that reduce the environmental impact of print," said Satoshi Mochida, chief operating officer of Komori.
"We believe that this type of reference guide will provide useful information to help decrease the impact of print throughout the entire lifecycle of a print job."
Komori is based in Tokyo and counts itself as being among the world's largest suppliers of offset printing technology.
